A regular foot passenger ferry service operates between Flushing and Falmouth. It takes five minutes to cross the estuary to Falmouth, from where you can link up with ferries to Truro, St Mawes and Frenchman’s Creek. Falmouth has many art galleries, a wide range of shops and sandy beaches.
Mylor Marina is a short distance away giving direct access to the waters of the Carrick Roads. Mylor Sailing School provides excellent tuition for keen sailors.
There are yacht clubs at Falmouth, Mylor and Flushing.
There is a splendid circular walk from Flushing via Kiln Quay Beach around Trefusis Headland to Mylor Church and Castaways Restaurant.
Flushing is a living fishing village. It has 2 pubs both serving food, a village shop (next door to Hope Cottage), the The Quay Cafe on Flushing Quay.
There is a Costcutters in Mylor, open until late Sundays or Asda and Sainsburys between Penryn and Falmouth
Truro is ten miles away, with a mainline train service running directly to London Paddington in four and a half hours. Air travellers can fly from London Stansted or Gatwick to Newquay.
